Clever Construction hosted the Clever Construction Invitational Golf Tournament on Nov. 14 at the Mauna Kea Golf Course. Approximately $10,000 from hole sponsorships was raised to benefit Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii, a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, working in partnership with people in need to build and renovate affordable housing.
Clever Construction announced plans to partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a new home for a local family in need next year.
The company also issued a call for assistance, especially from those in the real estate and architecture fields, to help locate and acquire residential property and design and build a home at no cost for a low-income family on the Big Island.
“We have had the privilege of building luxury homes in Hawaii for the past 30 years and know how important it is to have a roof over your head,” said Chris Clever, president of Clever Construction, at the event. “We, like Habitat for Humanity, know that a house is a home. Our tight-knit family at Clever Construction is proud to lend a helping hand to the local staff and volunteers of Habitat for Humanity, whose mission affects the lives of so many families around the world, including right here in West Hawaii.”
