Year Ends With Big Finish
December finished the year with a hefty $114.4 million in new contracts awarded, providing a strong base for a possible upturn in 2010.
Led by the DOT, the December awards bring the year’s total to $785,273,300, down from the previous year’s total by 17.6 percent.
Although the value of 2009 contracts was down, the strong finish guarantees that there is a healthy flow of work in the pipeline for this year.
By far the month’s top award of $60.1 million went to Nan Inc. followed by RMA-ECC, a Joint Venture, with $15.9 million and BCP Construction of Hawaii with $15.6 million.DECEMBER 2009 (Awards are rounded up to the nearest dollar.)
