GCA Celebrates Best of the Best

The General Contractors Association (GCA) of Hawaii presented its 2010 Build Hawaii Awards on April 24 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The annual program, now in its seventh year, garnered a record 56 entries this year, for projects completed in 2009.
The overall Grand Award was given to:

• Nordic PCL Construction, Inc. — project: The Ritz-Carlton Club & Residences, Kapalua Bay; category: building construction more than $100 million
Awards of Excellence were presented to:

More than 360 members and guests attended the event, which was emceed by William “Bill” Wilson of Hawaiian Dredging, a past GCA president, and Rusty Niau of Grace Pacific.
The Grand Award winning Ritz-Carlton Club & Residences, Kapalua Bay project was completed in May 2009
